Saturday 10th October 2026 is World Mental Health Day.
This year, we're asking schools, businesses, sports clubs, universities, community groups and organisations across the UK to join us for one simple but powerful campaign:
Wear Green. Be Seen. Make a Difference.
We're inviting everyone to wear green, raise awareness, raise vital funds, and help us create a sea of green across social media and communities nationwide.
Because conversations save lives.
Education changes lives.
And together, we can make sure more people get the support they need before they reach crisis point.
Why Wear Green?
Green has become a recognised colour for mental health awareness. It represents hope, growth, healing and new beginnings.
But awareness alone isn't enough.
Every year we see more people struggling with stress, anxiety, burnout, depression and emotional overwhelm. Waiting lists continue to grow, schools are under increasing pressure, workplaces are seeing rising levels of mental ill health, and many people still don't know where to turn for support.
That's why our Wear Green, Be Seen campaign exists.
It's about creating conversations that might not otherwise happen.
It's about letting people know it's okay not to be okay.
And it's about raising the funds needed to keep providing free mental health education, resources and support to the communities that need it most.
Every Green Outfit Helps Someone Else
When you take part, you're helping us continue delivering free mental health support through Melp Foundation.
That means supporting schools with preventative mental health education.
Helping young people develop emotional intelligence and resilience before problems become crises.
Supporting women's grassroots sports teams.
Providing practical resources through the Melp+ app.
Delivering talks, workshops and awareness events that encourage people to ask for help earlier and build better mental fitness.
Every pound raised helps us reach more people.
Every conversation started helps reduce stigma.
Every person wearing green becomes part of something much bigger.
How Can You Get Involved?
The beauty of Wear Green, Be Seen is that there isn't just one way to take part.
Whether you're a school of 300 pupils, a business with 3,000 employees, or simply someone who wants to make a difference with friends and family, there's something everyone can do.
Here are just a few ideas:
- Hold a non-uniform (Wear Green) day at school.
- Organise a green dress-down day in the workplace.
- Host a coffee morning.
- Arrange a bake sale.
- Take on a sponsored walk, run or cycle.
- Organise a team challenge or wellbeing activity.
- Run a raffle or fundraising event.
- Hold a lunch-and-learn or wellbeing session.
- Encourage donations instead of gifts or treats.
- Share photos across social media using your green outfits to inspire others.
Big or small, every fundraiser makes a genuine difference.
Want Us to Be Part of Your Day?
World Mental Health Day is one of our busiest times of the year, and we'd love to join as many organisations as possible.
If you're planning an event, we'd be delighted to discuss opportunities to support you.
Depending on availability, we can provide:
- Mental health awareness talks
- Wellbeing workshops
- Educational sessions
- Support for your fundraising event
- Advice on running your campaign
- Resources to help you engage your staff, students or community
Our diary is already filling up around World Mental Health Day, but we still have space for a small number of additional events if you get in touch soon.
Let's Turn Social Media Green
One of our biggest ambitions this year is simple.
We want to see feeds filled with green.
Schools.
Businesses.
Sports clubs.
Families.
Friends.
Communities.
Thousands of people standing together to show that mental health matters.
When you post your photos, you're helping spread an important message far beyond your own organisation.
You never know who might see your post, start a conversation, ask for help, or realise they're not alone.
Awareness really does ripple.
Raise Awareness. Raise Funds. Change Lives.
Mental health affects every community, every workplace and every family.
But with the right education, support and preventative approach, we can help people build the skills they need to navigate life's challenges more confidently.
That's what Melp Foundation exists to do.
We believe prevention should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford it.
Your fundraising helps make that possible.
Join the Movement
This World Mental Health Day, don't just wear green.
Wear it with purpose.
Start conversations.
Raise awareness.
Raise funds.
Help us make mental health impossible to ignore.
Together, let's create a UK-wide sea of green on 10th October 2026 and show that when communities come together, real change happens.
